Our workshops are the perfect way to learn about the performing arts, make new friends, and create lasting memories without committing to the full year. Each program offers something special for their age group! All workshops are open to the public.
Dance with Me (Ages 18 Months to 3 Years)
Dance with Me is a 6-session class designed to allow toddlers to dance right alongside their Mom, Dad, or Guardian. You and your child will have the opportunity to explore creative movement, rhythm basics, music appreciation, and more. It is a wonderful way to spend quality time together while also making new friends. Open to boys and girls!
Princess Camp (Ages 2-1/2 Years to 5 Years)
Calling all princesses to enjoy a 10-session Princess camp at the Linn McDonald School of Dance. Join us for an enchanting time as our little princesses get to meet Cinderella, Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty, Ariel, Jasmine, Snow White, Belle, Moana, Mulan and Anna and Elsa! Each week a different Disney Princess will visit us! Each day will include dancing, singing, themed activities and making a craft. Our little princesses will receive certificates signed by their favorite princess on the last day. Your little girl will have her dreams come true in the magical world of Princess Camp!
Storybook Theatre (Ages 2 1/2 Years to 5 Years)
This 10-session camp is open to boys and girls! Children are introduced to a classic children's book each week. Some of the books include: The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Where is the Green Sheep?, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and The Giving Tree. Children will enjoy story-telling, dancing, games and craft-making that all relate to the story of the day.
Yoga Tots (Ages 3-1/2 Years to 5 Years)
Yoga Tots class consists of 4 sessions and will bring the fun and benefits of authentic yoga practice to toddlers. The teacher will guide children through authentic yoga poses that unfold in an irresistibly whimsical flow of play, imagination, and movement.
Mini Nutcracker Camp (Ages 5+)
Celebrate Christmas in July at LMSD with dancers ages 4 - 10 as they perform in a “Mini-Nutcracker”! This camp is held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 am until noon during the month of July with a performance at the end of the month. Children audition and perform in a mini version of “The Nutcracker”. Everyone gets a part! Tuition is $200. This fee includes costume rental.
Hip-Hop Workshop
Hip-hop is a high-energy class that will encourage students to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style and personality to the movements. Whether it is fast or slow, Hip-Hop is a style of dance that is filled with character, attitude and fun!
Modern Workshop
Modern is a form of contemporary theatrical and concert dance employing a special technique for developing the use of the entire body in movements expressive of abstract ideas. Modern dance is expressive and students will explore the movement of the body and emotion through dance.
